I added this filter to my entire home filter system as a starter filter. Through the glass bowl, I can see exactly what's coming out of my city water supply. I was shocked to see sand and mud in the city water. I now use the bottom flush valve and clean the filter weekly. No more sand and dirt clogging my faucets and washing machine strainers. I suggest using teflon tape on all connectors, be patient and take your time. Be careful not to overtighten the inlet and outlet fittings. However, you may need to adjust the tightness after applying water pressure. It takes a little while, but the end result is worth the effort.
