Review on Ubiquiti AmpliFi Gamer’s Edition: Seamless Whole Home WiFi System with HD Router, 2 Mesh Points, Gigabit Ethernet, WAN Port, and Ethernet Cable – Replacing Router & WiFi Extenders by Andy Hearshman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Frustrated, misleading and expensive

The information clearly states that the grid points are rotated 270 degrees. Not true. There is no possibility of rotation. False information and advertising. It even says so on the packaging. The non-playable version rotates. Did they forget to update their own documentation? The instructions weren't enough, they were difficult to read. It would be nice if the font was bigger and bolder. No need to use bright light and magnifying glass. We have a 3600 square foot house. I bought this system to eliminate dead zones when using Wi-Fi for cell phone calls and to improve buffering on TVs. Although some dead spots have been eliminated, some still remain. I adjusted the position of the grid points with no noticeable improvement. Additionally, some devices in my house, notably the Wi-Fi Smart TV, receive a weaker signal from Amplifi than my Suddenlink modem, even though the Amplifi grid point is 3 feet from the TV and the modem is in two rooms. Instead, I left the TV connected to the modem. Overall disappointed. Cost high, performance questionable, no documentation, information on the Revain website on grid point rotation is incorrect. I don't know if there are better systems or not. I've searched and looked through many and felt this should be better. I don't have time to return it or start the search again. I don't think things are as they should be. I gave tech support 3 stars even though I didn't call them. I don't see how tech support can do anything about my above issues that I haven't tried yet by following the FAQ and troubleshooting documentation (which represents tech support). Good luck with your search!
