Best lock set I have ever installed

I have been in the renovation and refurbishment industry for many years but most of the time I have used locksmith sets. Typically, higher priced kits offer nothing more than extra weight, but they lack fit and tolerance. The newer latches, locks and Kwiksets phones are anything but sloppy. I was very impressed with the Downtown Flat Latch's latching mechanism. The latch itself has a very thick and strong bottle with a slight taper so you don't have to hold the door to get a tight seal. It simply clips into a double-thickness joint stop plate that comes with 3" architectural screws (you'll want to remove the trim to run a gasket behind it so your joint doesn't get sucked into the rough hole). The actual way the bolt locks has a very smooth and frictionless locking lever that doesn't bind at all and has no lag in its tolerances. the deadbolt is fully engaged. There's also the key itself. Most recent Kwikset locks (as well as Baldwin and Weiser) have a "SmartKey" feature that allows you to easily change the key when changing locks or rental property keys after you move out. This process takes only two minutes and is relatively reliable. YouTube explains what to do when you're confused), making it even more appealing to less mechanically inclined people. I bought these bolts in "Black Iron" (matt/black), flawless workmanship and very modern and elegant look. I will definitely be using Kwikset locks in future projects.
