I have a diary and a lot of stationery that I use with it. I used to keep them in several separate small pencil cases. I soon got tired of tackling multiple different cases when I had to write in my journal, and I set out to find one case to manage them all. So far this case is doing its job well. My only concern when looking at the cover online was that the material would be too shiny, making it resemble a 1980's roller disco outfit. Fortunately, my fears were unfounded. The material is a beautiful dark wine color with a touch of sheen that gives it a rich look. The handle is well made and comfortable. The inner lid has two zippered mesh pockets. Judging by the pictures I thought it was a short bag at the top and a large one underneath that was about twice the height of the top one. Surprise! The top pocket is longer than two! It goes from top to bottom on the panel. The second, lower pocket runs down from the center of the panel and is in front of the one above. Next are three panels with elastic loops to hold the handles. I suspect they were meant for crayons because the elastic loops are very tight around my pens. I have the usual bujo pens and pencils, like Pigma Microns and Tombow Fudenosuke pens. They go in the loops but fit well. The first panel has 12 individual pen loops on each side for a total of 24. The other two panels are attached with Velcro so they are removable. Each of these panels has 12 individual grip loops on one side and 6 wide loops on the other side. The wide loops are designed for large barrel markers, but I also use them to store three regular sized pens/markers. It's actually easier to place and remove grouped handles than individual loops. The elastic loops are strong and durable, so you don't have to take care of them or worry about them wearing out or falling out within months. Rolls of washi tape, erasers, sharpeners, rolls of tape and glue, whitewash, scissors, etc. This compartment is about 2 1/2 inches deep so you can store a whole variety of different items in it. Finally, we come to the final feature that sealed the deal for me: a third mesh pocket that extends along the entire interior bottom of the bag. This one has a zipper on the side instead of the top. Not only is it an extra dedicated storage space, its mesh also provides some protection to and from the items I store inside. I keep my hard plastic ruler and templates here to protect them from loose items in the recess of my bag, and also use them to protect my hands from the scissors I keep in it. I think this bag is the best oversized pencil case I've found at Revain. If you need more space, you'll probably need to upgrade to a real bag.
