well, it's a handy little kit. But it is not as strong as I thought it would be. I installed in solid oak, was turning in using the bolt itself as leverage and as indicated in the instructions, and it snapped. I could not get these locally, so I bought a comparably sized bolt and used a dremel tool and drill press to fabricate the broken part. Unfortunately, it is forever in the post so I can't admire my on the spot fabrication work! So, Consider drilling the pilot a touch big. The instructions also suggest that you COULD coat the threads with grease, but this should be standard to avoid breaking the product.
