They work well, but why do we need them?

I ordered these to try and they work well. I used a fabric around my kitchen sink for several weeks. It dries very quickly and absorbs better than paper towels or even plastic sponges. These cellulose towels plus coconut fiber scrubber easily replace reversible plastic sponges. I haven't thrown the fabric in the washing machine yet because I don't have to. I just wash myself and hang to dry by the sink. I think it will take at least a few more weeks. I think these rags can also be used in the bathroom. Although these materials are more environmentally friendly than plastic sponges, I wonder why we need them? I'm 70 years old and my whole life I've had a 'bin' full of recycled kitchen and bath towels just like my mom and grandma <lol>. I can cut any old kitchen towel into about 8 smaller ones. They can go in my regular wash without any special treatment. They don't dry as quickly as tissue paper, but that's not a problem for me. When they get too torn or dirty to use in the kitchen, we use them for more awkward cleaning jobs. I've never emptied my rag basket, and if I did, I could always go to Goodwill or something. My rag collector provides my husband and I with all the cleaning rags we will ever need. Eventually when they get too worn out, I recycle them somewhere, like at Threadcycle or a textile recycling facility near me. I see no need for these "Swedish" rags. my two cents Reduce reuse by recycling.
