This lock is so trivial that any child who can open a drawer can open it. No electricity is required at all to unlock. No tricky moves. Pill caps are harder to open. Perhaps the only "safety" is to keep the knives from falling if someone accidentally knocks over the block. But the knife box alone prevents it from tipping over. And when your kid is frolicking in the kitchen, there's a lot of damage ahead, "protected" knife block or not. I am returning this item because of an inaccurate description.
