For mounting the 72611 Monroe shock absorber on my 2005 Ford Freestyle. The plastic bearing snapped into place, placed the bracket on the ground and gently pushed the bearing in with the inner arch of both boots on opposite sides of the tire. One actually kicked in with my hands and pushed on him with all my weight. You must press on both sides of the ring evenly, otherwise it will jam and not enter.
