Review on 46-Inch Maple Dancing Longboard By Volador by Justin Dorsett

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Board arrived with a splitting deck.

Ordered this board to get back into skating after always wanting to have a longboard. Unfortunately, the board arrived with a cracked and splitting deck. (Pictured) Now, the crack is not large, but the layers of the deck are splitting in two areas. As this board is meant to be danced and tricked on I’m disappointed that there is a weak spot there. The wood used for the deck also contains several small but easy to feel knots on the top, this worries me for the overall durability of the deck. This is all said before I’ve been able to take it for a ride, the trucks need to be loosened still and honestly some better bearings won’t be far off for this either. Update to come.

Pros
  • The drop-through design lowers the center of gravity, providing riders with added stability and control
Cons
  • The board may not have a good weight to stiffness ratio
