I had my doubts that the new non-rechargeable batteries would allow charging. I pulled 3 AAAs from a flashlight that didn't work. The batteries were empty. I commissioned her. The charger said the batteries were charged, but I left them in the charger anyway. It charged them very well. I've had the flash on for 30 minutes now and it's as bright as if the batteries were new. I don't know why, but the charger doesn't show empty batteries as dead. It shows a full charge, but if you charge it anyway. 4 stars because the LED bar that shows if the batteries are charged is basically useless but charges the batteries.
