I took it for my first flight on a 2 day hike/camping trip. did a great job and is most handy for logs up to 4 inches in diameter. had a rainy trip so removing the thorns from fallen pine trees was a big help, especially at night. I was able to pick up 2-4 inch branches and split them lightly with a knife or ax to access the dry inner wood. Otherwise we wouldn't have a fire! The locking mechanism is great and why I spent the money on it and not the cheaper saws. The short blade was also favored by the pull saw. probably made about 20 cuts in wet and dry material and the blade is still sharp. The time will show. I hope that this knife is available as a spare part. I'll try to order a few for the future. Oh yeah, the rubber grip held up well and we mocked it a bit.
