Review on Accurate Transmission Temperature Monitoring ๐ŸŒก๏ธ with AUTO METER 2640 Z-Series Electric Gauge by Cody Henry

Best quality and accuracy

I bought this sensor for my 93 GMC K1500 to monitor the transmission temperature when towing a trailer. And for this winter I put a plow on the truck and I also want to monitor the temperature then because I use a winter road in winter so as not to lose engine heat when the truck's heater is connected. When it gets hot I can now always open the winter front to let in more air. So far I have found that the pressure gauge works perfectly. I installed it in the test port of my 4L60E where the mechanic who works with the gearbox suggested it be installed (I'm a mechanic but I don't work with gearboxes much). I also have a Hayden 678 transistor cooler in front of the AC condenser. Driving at 60mph on the freeway I see temperatures around 125-130. Mixed stop-and-go and some short 50 mile sections stayed under 150. When towing a 20 foot laden vehicle with a GVW of about 8,500 pounds on a mixed city and highway, the highest peak on a moderate hill is 1 mile at 60 mph, I touched 210 if I really push it. Reversing and going uphill a little shows 190-200. The sensor comes with: - Sensor - Sensor holder with bulb adapters and sockets with red and green caps (which I found to dim the lights) So people know no wiring or connectors are included. You will need spade connectors as well as 18 gauge wire. I also suggest installing a built in 5 amp fuse. At the moment the sensor has been in the truck for a little over 1 month and I have no complaints. However, you may consider purchasing a different mount. The included gives you an option that worked well for my truck. Installs in the pocket where the regular radio used to be. I uploaded a photo of where it is.
