I installed this on a 1999 f250 Super Duty with a 7.3 turbo diesel after several different parts shops had tested my old one several times over a couple of years and found no problems with it. Turns out the old one had a bad regulator and he kept charging the batteries until he ruined one of them. Luckily both batteries were still under warranty. The symptom was that the charging system warning light on the dash was on most of the time, but sometimes went out or flickered for a while. At the same time, both batteries leaked and got a little wet at the top with filler plugs. I'm glad the light finally went out.
