10-25-18 I am reviewing the X431 V Launch bi-directional scanner. I have to say I'm very happy with it so far. I bought it about 2 months ago and have taken the time to test this scanner on various makes, years and models. This kit includes adapters for older. For example, I think Toyotas won't connect until '90 at the earliest, but Fords might be '88. I was trying to connect to an '86 Chevy and his earliest support was '91 or '92. Also note that OBD1 has very limited bi-directional control and PID. I've also tested this on various OBD2 vehicles, testing as many bi-directional controllers as possible. Not everything worked smoothly, but on some models I was quite surprised at how many functions I was able to use. I tried the graphics and combined graphics functions, which had quite a high refresh rate depending on the vehicle. Remember, the more PIDs you view at once, the slower the refresh rate. So when I'm really trying to spot bugs or omissions in graphics mode, I tend to keep it at 4 or less depending on the system. Sometimes diagram 1 is sufficient, e.g. B. with a TPS sensor or a known problematic ABS sensor. The battery is sufficient for long-term vehicle diagnosis. The running time when used can be around 4 hours, I would say. Much more if you just turn it on and run it. What annoys me the most is the loading time. I think it takes about 4 or 5 hours to charge it from about 20% to 100%. I need to find better timing. I'm also disappointed that it doesn't come with a car-style charger like the power port does. I would also like a power port connector for OBD1 adapters. because it only came with the battery clamp type. Some OBD1 DLCs are in the car instead of under the hood, and the battery clip type power cable is very short. I would love the length SnapOn provides for the MT2500 block. This particular launch scanner came with a free WiFi printer, although that didn't affect my decision. These were the reviews, along with reviews about the "seller". THIS is important in order not to get a "stone" or have a seller not communicating with you. They're not overly expensive, but they're still a nice little thing to play with. My printer arrived the day after my scanner, which surprised me to have to wait at least 3 days. It was easy to set up and being able to print out DTCs to a customer on a whim came in handy. One final note I would like to add is that this particular scanner is supported directly by a Chinese company, not an American one. Your site is working but I think it takes some getting used to, also your pc may be having trouble giving you access to the site and mentions that the site may contain a virus (I haven't found that to be the case) . . Keep trying to log in and you will be fine. I had issues when I first got my tool, but the customer service has been phenomenal, which is pretty rare these days. I give credit to the seller and I know that not all sellers are that good at communicating with their customers. I purchased this from seller "Cardiag Tech CO., LTD" but did Revain which I feel is important to list this information. I have met sellers with different products including fakes even if they are listed under the same brand. I will post an update with a durability rating.
