The ability for us to use our own data sources in addition to those provided from other providers (e.g., Hoovers). This allows you get even deeper into each account without having access to their internal CRMs/databases that would otherwise be required as input parameters to pull relevant information about them out of these systems. It can take some time getting used to how it all works together - but once we figured things out I think this was one area where Salesforce really shone vs. competitors like Marketo who were trying too hard to mimic what they saw others doing rather then focusing on solving problems unique to themselves. We needed greater insight into which companies had been approached via sales calls versus social media outreach campaigns etc so could focus efforts accordingly.
