Bought this for the kitchen when we switched from an electric range/oven to a gas range. It does everything it's supposed to, but makes a constant, very high-pitched beep when connected to the network. I have a profound hearing loss with tinnitus so I personally can't hear it but my wife has great hearing and I ended up having to turn it off because it was driving her crazy in the kitchen. She said it sounded like a smoke alarm but it was constant and very quiet. I suspect it also contributed to the increase in my tinnitus scores because while I couldn't really hear it over the normal ringing I experience daily, I found that its constant presence still made my ringing in my ears worse. My wife said she had ringing in her ears too. We tested by unplugging it and then plugging it back in, and it was able to detect sound every time.
