Review on Tovolo Seamless Sphere Ice System - Set of 4 Compact 2.5 Inch Crystal Clear Spheres Molds by Morgan Freeman

I really wanted this to work. It was so, but not for long. The plastic shell that forms the lemon green ice cream ball has cracked. it must be made of some other plastic that will not become brittle when frozen. really stupid design flaw. My goal was crystal clear, round balls of ice cream. I've tried distilled water, first boiling water, ultra filtered water, but then I realized it's not just about water, it's also about physics and how water freezes. In short, this ice system doesn't work, but it's fragile and only worked until it broke a month after it was acquired. $20 a month is too expensive for home use. There are several flaws in the design. First, the foam sleeve (that black thing you see on the left side of the photo) isn't big enough to actually crimp the lime green ice ball makers tight. Second, filling ice balls is difficult. There is a "stem" in the center of the lemon green ice balls that you can pour water into, but this stem is too small for a funnel and you just can't pour water without spilling it all over the place. If someone is reading from Tovolo, change the pole design to have a funnel tip. Make the base out of plastic that won't crack when frozen, and loosely wrap the foam to allow it to close around any brands of lime green ice cream. So my review says don't buy it until they change the design.
