I wanted to use this to activate a 12V input relay using a Raspberry Pi to control it. I decided to test the device first with 3V and then with 5V. The 3V power supply fed to the device didn't even turn on the LEDs, but registered 20V at the output. Okay, no big deal, so while still monitoring the output with the meter I bumped it up to 12V, then hooked it up to a known good relay and it didn't work. I disconnected the circuit, raised the input to 5V. The LEDs lit up and showed 0V on the LEDs and the output on the meter. I thought I fried it. I then tried increasing the output voltage to 12V and it worked again and the meter showed 12V. Since the Raspberry Pi has a 3V output on its GPIOs, this device cannot be used in this project. The relay was triggered when using the 5V input in case you are wondering.
