My husband spends weekends at his daughters house about once a month or so. He takes a lot of medicine and the med minder we use at home would sometimes pop open and his pills would spill out in the ziplock I put it in. Since his daughter doesn't know which pills he takes when this caused problems for him. I got this one to see if it would be more secure and there has not been a problem with spilling since. The containers fit securely inside the carrier, and while a magnetic closure is not ideal it is easier to open than a snap or other closure which is important since he has trouble opening things. The med containers themselves latch which also adds to containment, although on the down side it is harder to open the slots the meds are in. So, for that reason, this is something we will only use for travel or overnight visits. It is definitely a worthwhile investment if you need something to take traveling, and if opening things is not difficult for you it would be great for home use as well.
