Great street light at a great price

I'm looking at different bike lights as a hobby. I bought this lamp because it is a Cygolite clone and the price was quite cheap. It turned out to be a very good light. The light is indeed quite bright (in altitude) and the radiation pattern is a nice mix of diffuse and diffuse. When properly aligned, the beam pattern is wide enough to illuminate about 15 feet wide and long enough to cast, depending on which mode you're using. I have found that I can use this lamp on the third constant brightness level (runtime is quoted as 3 hours) and still see very well into the distance. This provides excellent suburban lighting. Someone else mentioned that the lamp doesn't charge when the light is on. Please disagree. I plugged mine into the built in USB meter, turned the lamp on, and yes indeed the lamp drew power from the external charger when it turned on. That doesn't give you unlimited run time though, as I'm sure the lamp (while running) draws more current than it draws. However, if you use a lower output level along with a USB power adapter you can probably run for up to an hour without draining the battery. If you're on the brightest setting, you'll likely get about half an hour more runtime before seeing low-power warning flashes. the light doesn't go out. The mount itself is kind of a mix of good and bad. As others have mentioned, the quick release mount is pretty firm. Push the release lever too hard and the lever will break. Put some grease on the guide bracket and it should make it much easier to remove the lamp from the quick release guide bracket. Until mine broke. The bracket can be rotated, but not when the lamp is on the bracket. You need to loosen the screw on the slide mount and then adjust the angle. (uses a ratchet system with teeth). I adjusted mine one position to the right and the adjustment was perfect. I would give the lamp five stars if the mount wasn't so wobbly and could be rotated on the bike. There are no problems with tinted headlights. A very pleasant white cast of the beam, no bluish cast in the color. I haven't tested the uptime listed, but if I find an issue I'll update my review.
