I wanted it to be as small as possible so I could use it in my theater as a popcorn vacuum that's always in the room. Excellent for this purpose. It seems to have more than enough suction power to deal with any small mess in a car, shed, shop, when traveling etc. The diameter of the hose itself limits what it can suck up, which is relatively small. I also liked this model more than some of the others in this size range as it doesn't require special pockets like the others. This is the traditional architecture of a shop vacuum that throws the garbage straight into the bucket. The filter is a very simple cloth cover that can be removed to clean up a damp mess. In general very satisfied.
