The pump was leaking - it was returned
The pump itself gave a strong pressure but when I connected it to the hose the pressure pushed the washer away and the pump started to flow heavily. I tried using a double disc but it didn't work: the nozzle rests on the rubber disc and is too delicate to resist pressure. In order to use the 3/4" nozzle and connect to the garden hose I had to purchase an additional 3/4" vinyl hose and a 3/4" repair kit which is now useless because I returned the pump . It was expensive .
