Review on πŸ”Œ Enhance Connectivity: Belkin Thunderbolt Express Dock (Thunderbolt 2 Compatible) - Cable Sold Separately by Kyam Deriphonse

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Works great as a Macbook Pro Dock

I take my 15" rMBP Gen 1 to work. In both cases I have 30" monitors, USB 3.0 backup drives, wired gb ethernet and a wireless keyboard and mouse plus a usb hub with some other goodies.connecting all the cables going back and forth was a hassle.bought one of these for work about a year ago and it worked fine.none of the issues noted by some reviewers.Connects fine.HD backup spins up, monitor connects, keyboard works etc.I haven't tried booting from it and it's not really necessary.I have on it waiting for the sonnet dock to come out to try it out as i thought hd and blu-ray might be good, however after they postponed it again this summer i decided to go for one different Belkin, especially given the recent price drop. Now that I have them in both places, life is great. I connect two cables and I'm good to go. I also have spare USB ports on a flash drive or my USB hub if needed. I had no problems and it just works. I actually have a problem, my Dell U3014 freezes when connected via DisplayPort. It works well with mini displayport dual link DVI adapter. I have the same problem when I connect directly to the MBP, so docking is not an issue. The only thing I would wish for would be more USB ports. I don't miss eSATA as USB 3.0 seems to be fast enough. I would definitely buy them again.

Pros
  • 1 FireWire 800 port
Cons
  • I'm concerned
