Just received today and used on my filters. I clean the filters regularly by rubbing them vigorously with a soft brush and cleaning pad. Prime again after each cleaning. However, my water (and it's municipal water) has SO MUCH DEPOSIT that it slowed my filters down to the point where they were almost useless. Before I bought a new kit, I settled on this one. Refilling my filters is difficult (though not impossible) due to the type of sink faucet I have. Well, let's just say Burkey won't be getting an order for new filters from me any time soon. I cleaned and dried them and then dried them. I've found that putting the larger end of this thing on a filter and just blowing in works better than a lightbulb, but that's because mine were SO LEFT! After I removed the junk from them, the lightbulb worked fine. THEN, after cleaning and drying, I refilled them. I was amazed at how much pressure this little thing could get through the filter. This pressure was enough to sometimes rip the hose off the plastic parts. BUT. It is in order. I will say that this thing has a learning curve that depends a bit on how clogged your filters are. If you're starting over, maybe not. However, this thing will save your filter's life if your water is as bad as mine! Worth the $17 I paid for it. Especially when compared to the filter costs. :)
