Review on πŸ”§ Yonico Banding Router V Design: Enhance Precision and Efficiency in Woodworking by Jake Pavelko

Good idea, difficult to implement

There are many ways to edge plywood but I thought it would be potentially very cool and it is. The problem is that it's very difficult to adjust the settings so that the two pieces line up perfectly unless you have a very sophisticated router jack that can be micro-stepped (you'll probably want to use spring boards as well) . I've done a few things and after all the work I've found that there are easier ways to do it with good results. For me it was just a bit overkill. Decent quality bits - not great. The plywood I used was cheap Baltic birch and it tore a little while the maple I used for the edges was a bit more difficult to cut.

Pros
  • For use on a router only
Cons
  • Not as thick as others
