Review on EFuncar Rocker Switch Lighted Motorcycle by Vinay Mickel

I wanted to use these switches in a project but had constant problems with short circuits and LEDs not working. I could get one working, but plugging in the other could cause problems. I then disassembled one and my problems became clear. Looks like it's another switch that has been repurposed. First, the description is completely wrong. These are NOT SPST switches, these are SPDT switches. See the exploded view of one of them above. These are clearly on/off switches, with the center contact being the switchable contact. That means the switch can't actually turn off. What it does is close the LED's contact with the center pin. I also doubt the 30 rating. And now that I've seen the inside. Fun Fact: Since it's actually an SPDT switch, the schematic in the Revain description actually causes a full short. The second LEDs are directional, meaning it matters which side the + is on. Some of my switches have a + LED connection and some -. You can't tell what they are until you connect power to them. I suspect that's why the circuitry between the Revain and the box is different, some needed to be connected one way, some the other.
