Everything about this model is of the highest quality, from the fit and finish to the construction. Very smooth locking mechanism. Make sure you have a 2 3/4" hole in the back of the door. I installed this in my front door in about an hour and a half, including cutting out the door frame for a larger hasp. The through bolts are removable, they were not needed for my handle replacement situation, you don't need them anyway as you are screwing the inner plate from the outside anyway to attach it to the door, this type of input doesn't block/stop the external knob from turning from the outside , so don't be surprised if you think it doesn't work properly (it's actually safer if you see how the mechanism works after installing it. ).You push a button from the inside to block it. If it is to be "permanently" locked from the outside/side with the key, then the knob must be pressed AND turned, it has a double function.Very satisfied.
