Review on 5-Pack 12V/20A Red LED Illuminated 3Pin HOTSYSTEM Rocker Toggle Switch SPST ON/Off Carbon Fiber Cover For Car Truck Boat Motorcycle by Oscar Colangelo

This switch looks and works great on my boat. Very similar switches were used to control bilge pumps, navigation, anchor lights etc. The cover is removable and its use is optional. The LED is brighter than the illuminated switches that came with the boat (23' Regal) and the quality is better. The size and fit is perfect. The tab shown horizontal, nearest the switch lever, is for connection to negative battery for use with the LED. The other two contacts are marked + for battery and another symbol for the load. These two contacts are a simple single pole single throw switch whose contacts are open in the off position and closed in the on position. The cover turns the switch off when it is closed. The LED and the cover if used provide a good reminder that a circuit is on so that you can make sure all circuits are switched to the off position when not in use. Good quality fair price.
