Review on GDFB AB0116 Plain Steel Buckler by Michael Lucas

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very strong, but uncomfortable handle design

Therefore, the buckler shield is the best protection because the shield is placed perpendicular to the arm. The sword is easiest to handle when held parallel to the hand. It should be designed in such a way that it is easy to switch between two grips. It has a very flat handle, making it easy to just hold it in a parallel position. Well, that aside, I've modified mine to be quite comfortable to hold in any position. I took the box it came in and cut strips, one the width and length of the handle, one 1/4 inch thinner, and a third another 1/4 inch thinner. Then I liberally taped all three in place until the handle was nicely rounded and smooth on the back. Then I wrapped it twice with tape. The end effect of the modification is a very durable grip that absorbs almost all shock at impact. The tape is sweat resistant and the tab provides extra support and protects the tape. I'm very happy with the end result, but I can't give 5 stars to anything that needs modification that much or is designed that poorly. not bad. I'm hesitant to hit him full force with a real sword for fear of what he'll do with the blade's edge, but I'm sure he'll take more than a few direct hits as is. designed for it. A bit greasy upon opening the box, but that's typical for most melee weapons.
