Review on πŸ”© High Speed COMOWARE Countersink for Carpentry Woodworking by Devin Girard

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Too soft and wear out quickly.

Poorly sharpened and will not cut hard wood or aluminum. I really had to lean on it to sink a hole in the oak plank. I sharpened them, now they cut 100% better. However, they are made of soft metal and don't stay sharp for long. The center punch worked well but soon began to take hold. I took it apart and found that the drive pin and hammer were not heat treated. The tip of the guide pin has grown. I quickly heat treated the pilot pin and hammer and polished them smooth so the center punch works fine now. I also had to grind the brass barrel that guides the punch. The impact was so shaky I couldn't hold it to find my target. After curing, the stamp solidified. This is a good mid shot after spending 30 minutes on it. Not recommended.

Pros
  • PERFORMANCE AND DURABILITY: Classic carbon steel material. High hardness, excellent cutting ability and durability.
