It's early days but the quality and functionality of the product seems good so far. Of course, this is a relatively expensive pan, so expectations are high. Problem 1: The metal electrical connection in the bottom of the pot is exposed - it's made up of concentric circles of metal that mate with the plastic bottom. According to the operating instructions, the connection must be dry. Other pans have a plastic-on-plastic connection between the kettle and the base, which is arguably the best design. Problem 2. This kettle is filled with a lot of foam. Please stop using this material. There are other cost-effective alternatives (e.g. packaging made from recycled cardboard). Styrofoam is not recyclable, harms our oceans and marine life, and is toxic. This should be banned. SUPPLEMENT FOR 3/2 MONTHS1. The instructions for this pot state that it should be dried after each use and descaled weekly.2. After a month, despite following the instructions, the cover around the air vents began to rust. Replacing the cover began to rust after a week.3. The junction between the black outer coating and the inner "stainless" coating is beginning to peel and appears torn.4. Despite following the instructions, brown spots appeared on the bottom of the pot. Descaling and rubbing vigorously with a soft, abrasive sponge will not remove them. I can't confirm they are rusty but I think they are. Obviously the stains are on the heating elements. This is the strongest pot I've ever owned and I've had many. No pot that only boils water should be dried and descaled frequently. And what's worse, rust and wear and tear of the material appear after just a few weeks of use. This pot should last for years, but it doesn't. For the price, the build quality and materials are very poor. 2 stars.
