Review on Nostalgia FPS200 6-Cup Stainless Steel Electric Fondue Pot for Chocolate, Caramel, Cheese, Sauces and More - with Temperature Control, 6 Color-Coded Forks, and Removable Pot by Edris Holwell

Terrible heat control

That's what I was hoping for. That was our Christmas dinner, cheese fondue. I followed all the directions and I ended up with a piece of EXPENSIVE cheese swimming in wine. As another reviewer said, it either heats up a lot or is so weak it barely gets warm. Nothing in between. The instructions don't tell you which number on the dial corresponds to which temperature (e.g. 5 for medium heat, 11 for high heat), you just have to guess. So when he says to start with an average temperature, just guess what number to put in. We ended up throwing the whole batch away and luckily I had some Velveeta that worked in a pinch, but even that was almost impossible to melt into this thing. I might have gotten a broken one, who knows, but it's hard to give a good review when technically it works, it's just awful.

Pros
  • Useful for more than intended purpose
Cons
  • Some minor things
