This soft wire starts life as a long, thin piece. It is folded in half and rolled up. I use it to create drawing frame layouts. It has the benefit of being reusable, so I can make changes to any creature I've wired. Because it's easy to handle, it won't hold its shape if you throw heavy fabric over it without proper internal support. It's lightweight and when I'm done with a piece I can just roll it back up. The curved part in the middle of the hole in the picture is where the crimp is. With a little patience, it can be easily smoothed out. However, I'm not a professional sculptor, so this can be an issue for professionals and students looking for thinner and flatter details.
