So I ordered non-removable core valve extensions. They come with the smallest o-rings imaginable. They are almost impossible to place. One ring goes to the extension, the other to the valve you are extending. Then unscrew the valve nut to open the airway and screw an extension onto the undersized valve. Fix the pump and go to town. The problem is that there is not a good seal between the too short valve and the expander. Air is constantly leaking out and you have to pump air like a bat out of hell to get air in faster than it's coming out. If you then manage to reach the pressure, the air will continue to escape before you can remove the extension. I didn't expect much from them and that's what I got. I would like to think that the detachable core version works better. But of course your existing valve must have a removable core. If you have a couple of valves that are too short, you'll need more tiny O-rings to attach them. Because you will definitely not exchange them. So for the fixed valve version, I really have to say that this is not a viable solution.
