Save time and money on mechanics

So, a little anecdote about this product. Both windows on the left side of my car would not go up. They could go down but not up. I didn't think it was an engine problem but still went to a mechanic to diagnose it (I'm no auto guru so thought it was a mystery to me). A few hours later, the mechanic calls me and says it's a problem with the master switch (i.e. the driver's power window switch in this product listing). I was relieved because I thought it would be a quick fix. When I asked him for a quote he quoted me $750 plus labor hours to diagnose the problem! I didn't anticipate and wasn't willing to pay for this kind of investment, even in the worst case, so I told him to put it all back together. He said give him an hour or so and I can come over. I go to the mechanic and get my bill which was $150. Based on their regular hourly rate of $100. I estimate it took them 90 minutes to find the problem and disassemble/reassemble the door(s). I would see a bill close to $1,000 if I used the service, and it's all because of the damn switch. I asked the mechanic what caused the price to be so high and he said the cheapest master switch he could get was $400. So I went home and straight to the internet, found a lot of information about the switch and how to do it yourself, looked pretty straight forward. Forward. I went to the Nissan website and actually found the switches at the dealer for between $350 and $400. That's how I came across this product. Look, it's basically like buying a fake N64 controller, but for $35 I thought it was worth a try. The alternative was to pay the mechanic an additional $750 or the dealer $400. When this switch arrived I went to my car to install it. Ready in 10 minutes, no tools required! The mechanics charged me for labor hours that weren't necessary. The product works well, I think if you compare them side by side you will see that the plastic is a little different but you will never know otherwise. In my view, I can buy hundreds of these switches before it becomes financially unfeasible, and now that I know how easy it is, I don't mind having to replace them a few more times. At the moment, a month, it works fine. Hell, right before I sell the car I can buy a new one and replace it, the buyer won't notice the difference! Save time and above all money. Buy and install yourself. Five stars for convenience.
