Prepared slides are simply necessary for those who do not work with these tools constantly or even part-time. I picked up a few sets for my grandkids. They love looking at new things and are so excited to see something they have never seen before. It's a really great way to keep them away from their iPad, console or TV for a while. It helps activate their minds and help them understand what they are seeing. So we usually choose a slide and then read what we're going to see. They seem to like it. All in all I didn't have high expectations for this set as the others I received weren't packaged very well or had extra slides. But this set was intact and well packaged.
