--- UPDATED REVIEW --- 14/08/2021 This was purchased at the end of May 2020 with the intention of bringing it back to the office for use. I ended up not going to the office for about a year but using it about once a week? After that, I started coming to the office on weekends and using it twice a day. Today I poured tap water in, flicked the switch and when it was done I smelled like burnt plastic. It wasn't strong, just enough to be noticed. Everything looked fine and nothing else was included, so I assumed that was the reason. I poured hot water, filled it halfway and flipped the switch. That's when I noticed smoke coming out of the handle. When it worked everything was pretty good. Knowing it can cause a fire isn't so good. When you buy, please don't leave when you turn it on! ---------- In my office, before we were allowed to work from home, there was no hot water all the time. I had the choice of running the water through my coffee pot or heating it up in the microwave. Both were unwanted. That's enough to go to the office and drink tea all day. I could have chosen a little more but nobody had such a removable cover. It's pretty easy to clean.
