Worth the premium. good to touch faucets

I was about to install a water filter under the kitchen sink and quickly realized that I should probably install an extra faucet with it (so as not to waste the filter washing dishes, etc. ..). When I first started buying the faucet, I was happy to see quality products in the $30-$40 range, but I was also dismayed by the reviews, many of which described the difficult installation process due to the non-standard white color threads . Brands etc. Anyway I already had a Kingston Brass faucet in my kitchen sink so I thought it would be a good idea to match the new faucet to the existing one. I was happy to find this product that perfectly complements my existing faucet. And I felt great paying a little more for a brand I trust. After all, only an extra $20. The plumbing connection here is a standard 1/4" compression fitting. In my experience, kitchen sink installation typically involves 3/8" compression fittings all the way around. Transitioning from one to the other wasn't difficult. $10 at Home Depot and I had everything I needed.I drilled a 3/4" diameter hole in my wood countertop (5/8" would have been enough and the hardware would have completely covered the 1" hole as well). As with all under-counter installations, we put all the pieces together. It took a steady hand and some patience, but I was able to install it myself without help, and the whole thing took less than an hour (including drilling the hole). The handle rotates almost 90 degrees from its original position. I quickly realized that less than half that range of motion is optimal for a good, steady flow. Opening the valve fully results in a flow almost too strong to be useful. Perhaps filling a large saucepan would be a suitable application for this. Anyway, I'm very glad I spent the extra $20.

Pros
  • tools and household goods
Cons
  • slightly torn
