I had a multiport USB hub that connected to my computer and it worked great. No hassle, no hassle, just plug and play. Then it broke after wearing it for a long time. So I bought this. When I took it out of the box it had a USB plug and power cord. I didn't even think about the power cord because I expected to be able to plug it in and go. nope After connecting to my computer it said there was not enough juice to power the 16G USB stick. You really need to plug in the device if you want to use it. Forget taking it with you if you have a laptop and the power cord is in the way, especially with the way my desk and electrical connections are set up. Too bad I opened it so late because I missed the window to return it. I think it's going to the yard sale.
