Good replacement for a 2003 Dodge Caravan --- Possibly

Used to replace a failed resistor pack in my 2003 Dodge Caravan. Installation was fairly easy - there are a few videos on Youtube that demonstrate it well. In my caravan, the two screws holding the resistor pack had 8mm hex sockets - no slots - so I had to use the socket on my screwdriver. A cordless screwdriver with a flexible extension helps. It smelled bad the first day - the smell of "hot metal" but the smell quickly dissipated. My caravan will be 15 in a few months, so maybe the pack died of old age. The fan doesn't make any squeaks, squeaks or rumbles, so I don't think the resistor pack failure is fan related, but it's always possible. If the fan is to blame the new resistor pack will fail and I will have to replace it and the fan. At that price I was willing to take the risk. EDIT - About a week ago in early February I smelled "hot metal" again and lost the highest speed of the three intermediate speeds. Of the three intermediate speeds, this is the one I use the least, so I'm surprised it blew through. The other two speeds still work well. I won't mess with it until the weather clears up or I don't lose the other two speeds.
