2001 Dodge Grand Caravan EX-AC now runs at ALL speeds! ;-)

Bought for my wife's 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. My son put an Elm bluetooth obt2 adapter in her van. Wow! Said he was going to scan his mum's van, pulled it out when it smelled burnt! LOL Anyway it installs through the glove box, unplug the two connectors with a small flat head screwdriver. both appear. 2 9mm screws hold it, install the new device. The instructions say to remove and isolate the ground wire (I didn't do that, it was midnight and I couldn't see under the hood). I would remove the…

Worked 24 hours then died

It took me about 15 minutes to install this resistor on my 2001 Chrysler Voyager. It would have taken 5 minutes but for some reason I was struggling to unhook the two harness connectors. I solved this minor problem by first removing the mounting screws and then removing the old block, which gave me just enough slack in the wiring so I could see the connectors better. At this point I could see what I was doing and then I was able to unplug the connectors from the old resistor. From that moment…

Good replacement for a 2003 Dodge Caravan --- Possibly

Used to replace a failed resistor pack in my 2003 Dodge Caravan. Installation was fairly easy - there are a few videos on Youtube that demonstrate it well. In my caravan, the two screws holding the resistor pack had 8mm hex sockets - no slots - so I had to use the socket on my screwdriver. A cordless screwdriver with a flexible extension helps. It smelled bad the first day - the smell of "hot metal" but the smell quickly dissipated. My caravan will be 15 in a few months, so maybe the pack died…

Incorrect part although listed as fitting my car - see below

CHECK THE CONNECTIONS ON YOUR ORIGINAL PART BEFORE PURCHASING THIS! Although my star rating might be a bit unfair as I can't really tell how well it works. I bought it because it was listed on Dorman's own website as a suitable replacement part for my 2003 Chrysler Town & Country LXi. When I pulled out the faulty fan motor resistor I noticed they looked different but I just thought it was because it's not an OEM replacement. It wasn't until I tried plugging it into the harness connectors that I

Worked fine for a month and a half.

Resistor block fixed, no fan speed except high issue but smelled awful initially. This is a very inferior replacement for the OEM unit that you will be removing from your vehicle. I'm not sure what type of high temperature coating they put on the waffle board, but geez, it smelled bad for the first week it "burned out". go; boy was I wrong. About a month and a half later, one of the speeds disappeared again. Not all are like last time, just speed #4 (the one before the top). I've gone through…
