Review on πŸ”₯ Dorman 973-022 HVAC Blower Motor Resistor for Chrysler and Dodge Models" by Patrick Goodrich

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Worked 24 hours then died

It took me about 15 minutes to install this resistor on my 2001 Chrysler Voyager. It would have taken 5 minutes but for some reason I was struggling to unhook the two harness connectors. I solved this minor problem by first removing the mounting screws and then removing the old block, which gave me just enough slack in the wiring so I could see the connectors better. At this point I could see what I was doing and then I was able to unplug the connectors from the old resistor. From that moment on, installing a new unit was easy. I am pleased to report that the fan motor is running at all speeds again. Most people probably won't have the minor issue I had, but those who do may want to reverse the recommended procedure and first remove the mounting screws, then remove the device, then unplug the connectors. You will have enough slack in the wiring to pull this off. Edited Two Days Later: As happy as I was two days ago, I'm just as unhappy to report that the device died entirely. It worked when I entered the store and not when I exited the store's parking lot. I immediately returned it for a refund. I should probably downgrade my original five star rating to one, but the customer service was so good that I'm going to leave it at two stars.
