Review on πŸ”₯ Dorman 973-022 HVAC Blower Motor Resistor for Chrysler and Dodge Models" by Aaron Ethridge

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Worked fine for a month and a half.

Resistor block fixed, no fan speed except high issue but smelled awful initially. This is a very inferior replacement for the OEM unit that you will be removing from your vehicle. I'm not sure what type of high temperature coating they put on the waffle board, but geez, it smelled bad for the first week it "burned out". go; boy was I wrong. About a month and a half later, one of the speeds disappeared again. Not all are like last time, just speed #4 (the one before the top). I've gone through the Revain 30 day return, so now I have to decide whether to spend another $17 to buy another one that might end up doing the same thing again, or try the thermal fuse to be replaced with an OEM unit. I think I can easily fix the original as it's much more durable and I have a lot more confidence in it than this amount they put out as replacements. UPDATE (4-22-14): I contacted Revane about the article. was defective despite the expiry of Revain's 30 day return policy. I contacted them because the item was still under manufacturer's warranty and the manufacturer said you should contact the "dealer" where you purchased the item to have it replaced under warranty. Revain was more than willing to send me a replacement free of charge, which they did. They didn't even want to return the old one. I haven't replaced the resistance pack yet, but I'll update again once it's changed and it's been around for a while. I fully intend to take the thermistor from the block that Revain refused to return and put it in the OEM block. If the replacement they sent me dies I still have a working OEM unit to put in its place.
