Chrome Vanadium Steel Material? I don't believe it for a second. I would believe this to be ordinary rusting iron or steel. I would have no hesitation in giving five stars if it looked as clean and bright as the photos. With the exception of the molded housing for the rectangular adapter, every dull looking part is covered in a layer of grease. Other parts look darker and darker than the photos. Chrome vanadium steel does not need to be coated with a sticky film of grease. I'm a professional engineer and former Vice President of Engineering. I believe the pictures are most likely chrome vanadium steel but that is absolutely not what I received. I don't like the feeling of having to wash my hands every time I use those boring sticks I have. I tend to ask for a refund for a clearly misleading statement. I started getting this lower and for an extra dollar I'd happily do it. That's what happens when you're the first to rate something. Customer videos look brighter than what I got with this one. Of course, the sales photos look the same and none of them show what you will actually receive. JelBo 8 pcs. Mine are somewhere in between but closer to glossy but still look very tacky and matte. I think the difference in price is due to the processing. Otherwise it's probably random bad luck. I think I'll send my set back and risk that with the best reviews and real tooling videos. I can't always blame my wife for this, but she does her part by cleaning up after me and organizing in the most haphazard way imaginable. In fact, as you can see from the photos, there are only two exact duplicates. The rest vary in length and shape to varying degrees. Some of them duplicate items I have already purchased but I lost one of them. And the right angle adapter is much smaller than the other one I have. Without a doubt this is a superb tool adapter set when freshly made from chrome vanadium steel. So why the three star rating? I wish they had some kind of anti-rust coating on it so they didn't have to use oil to prevent rusting. I'll wipe off the excess oil with a shop rag, which should still leave a light film of oil on it, just enough to prevent rust. I won't be using it in an overly humid environment so I think it will last for years for home use. Let's hope their sticky, oily coating was redundant for sea voyages across the Pacific. Since the pictures are misleading I figured that was enough excuse for the second missing star. Only two stars because it's a working tool. However, I do not like misleading advertising. You'll probably agree that this probably doesn't contain a measurable or usable amount of chromium or vanadium. I think it's just steel that rusts. Why else is sticky fatty oil everywhere? I sent it back for a refund.
