I ordered this after I thought I had read enough reviews. Thought it would be easy to install. It didn't seem difficult at all. Well, it still wouldn't be difficult. What should have taken maybe 30 minutes took 3 days. I pre-drilled holes in the wall for the included mollies. I then used the screws that came with it. I was like, hey, why are these screws so big? But I continued drilling them into Mollies. The screws were too big! I ended up screwing in the mollies, they fell behind the drywall and I was left with 3 pretty rough holes that I had to fill, patch, paint and dry in between. So, I'm new to handcrafting and have endeavored to test the dowel/screw fit prior to use. I just didn't think the manufacturer would supply the wrong hardware. I decided to keep using the product as I only had a few days to return it and a few days to dry. I made 3 new holes with anchors/screws that I knew were the right size. One of the new anchors went too deep so I didn't go down deep enough after the repair. But the platform held up well with two lefts. It seems to tilt downwards as some reviews say, but very slightly. After everything is tightened it feels solid - this glass is not going anywhere. Go ahead and tighten these rubber pads before hanging the platform. I also attached the tabs to the glass first and then slid them into place. Easier than instructions. The glass is really short. I just wanted a small, lightweight DVD player to float under the TV. If you press the DVD player as far as possible against the wall, the front part still barely hangs over the glass. So maybe give yourself 2 inches at the back if you don't want your device protruding excessively forward. After all that has been said and done and the disappointment, the end product looks good. You can see the bottom screws if you're below the DVD player's viewing plane, but I can probably cover the shiny silver with black nail polish. However, I don't think it looks fancy. I don't think anyone will ask me where I got this from as some reviews say. Always buy at your own risk. It's not terrible, but make sure you get your own anchors/screws.
