device installation in suburb 01. Radio works fine, still with standard speaker setup with factory amplifier but still sounds good. The CD player works perfectly. A few times there was a problem when the device behaved as if no CD player was connected. The disc was not read or ejected. A few days later it started working again. Google Maps seems to be struggling VERY. Keeps crashing and likes to lag. Even when connected to the phone, it is difficult to find routes due to the internet, on average it takes 10-15 minutes to find the location input and download the routes. Sometimes it crashes in the middle of the loading instructions and you have to start over. Occasionally the route will continue if the truck is switched off and on again (e.g. when refuelling), but sometimes you have to open the maps again and start over. In the settings there is an option to disable videos in motion, which were disabled by default during installation. . A fairly handy feature which means no wiring is required in the parking brake or parking brake bypass unit. I was able to download Disney now for my daughter to watch videos while parking, but then again, even when connected through the phone, it's VERY laggy. The boot time takes about 15-20 seconds to load, not too bad. Start the truck, buckle up, start backing up and usually the radio comes on before you hit the road. I haven't tried the rear camera yet, or the video-in features, or the video-out to place the screen on the back. All in all you get what you pay for. It mostly runs on demand, could possibly use more memory and a faster processor, but you pay more money for that.
