Review on 🎧 Spectra SP-PC 3.5 mm PC Stereo Transcription Headset: Premium Audio Quality for Professional Transcriptionists by Shaun Robinson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The best advantage is that we can turn off the TV.

I ordered one as a backup for transcription at work and another for personal use. In order to reduce the loud sound of the TV at home, we placed two small speakers next to the chairs, which are connected to the "audio output" of our TV via a Y-connector. Each headset then connects to our separate speaker, allowing us to control the volume when changing programs or playing loud commercials. The best advantage is that we can turn down the volume on the TV and get a really quiet room. Audio quality through the headset is cleaner and clearer than what's typically heard around the room from the TV's built-in speakers. The earbuds on this device are easily attached to the outer ear canal, so they don't interfere with other sounds in the room like on-ear headphones do, but the sound through the earbuds is more noticeable than other ambient noise, so distractions can be ignored will. The device is intended for listening to speech, not music, by true music lovers, but the music fidelity is acceptable and probably exceeds what your TV speakers will let you hear. A long cord allows you to be away from the source without pulling it out of your ear. Of course, most earbuds are over 3 feet long and they're definitely more comfortable.
