As mentioned, crush disks are made of steel, like the plugs themselves, and therefore do not 'squeeze' onto the plugs with the correct torque. Not only that, the washers are not removable, so I had to cut them off to use the correct *ALUMINUM (soft)* washers. To make matters worse, the pans are soft and you never want to turn a drain plug anyway, so these plugs don't work as intended. Plugs don't need to be replaced with every oil change, just washers, so I only had to cut two steel washers to get two usable plugs, but finding and diagnosing this problem after pouring new $60 oil in the car, was crazy Dorman should be ashamed that they launched this with the wrong materials. If you buy them, be sure to order a pack of shims to save yourself the headache - and cut off all 5 shims (I used nail clippers to keep the threads clean) so you never burn yourself or get very oily stain in the driveway.
