Review on Fowler 72 646 300 Cylinder Dial Gauge by Larry Daniels

This is a decent tool. (This isn't Starrett quality, but if you're buying this gauge, don't expect this level of performance. After all, a Starrett bore gauge is more than twice the price of this one.) I needed to gauge the bores. in a Ford 7.3 IDI diesel that I am converting and it worked great for that. It's not as smooth as a more expensive bore gauge, and if I was overhauling engines regularly I'd buy a better (and more expensive) gauge. But for my needs (I'm just a lay mechanic, need it at best for a diesel engine overhaul and maybe a few more engine overhauls in the future) it works perfectly.
