For years I have used a small battery operated Dremel to file our dogs nails. The battery started dying so I bought a new battery. Then the charger decided to act and I was ready. My husband got me a Dremel 3000 from HD which was good but after the first use the 1st speed went out then the 2nd speed. I saw this one and thought it would do what I wanted it to do. Only two speeds and a smaller size that fits my hand better. We have two large mastiffs with very thick claws. The slower speed is more than enough for clipping and filing nails. High speed would be faster but they are young enough that any stress will turn a nail clipping session into a rodeo it's so slow! This Dremel has already proven to perform better than the 3000 at a lower cost. Very happy with my purchase!
